Where the numbers on this site were published
Sources
This page lists the 222 documents and datasets cited by QuakeImpact. Each entry includes its date and an available link.
How to read an entry
Each entry says whether the information came from the document itself, a news report, an archive or an organisation describing its own work.
5 cited documents could not be recovered. Others are behind a paywall or work only in a browser. Those limits are recorded in the entry.
Reuse conditions appear wherever a document states them. The site paraphrases the source and links to it unless a short quotation is necessary.
The short code at the end matches the citation marker used elsewhere on the site. It also provides a permanent link to the entry.
Past earthquakes used as examples
22 entries describe earthquakes somewhere else: the 2011 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand, the 1995 earthquake in Kobe, Japan, and the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku, Japan.
These events show how systems failed and what daily life was like afterwards. They do not set restoration times for the Lower Mainland.
